Fuel Tanker Services

Q: My Fuel Tanker is cracked.  Can you fix it safely?
A: Yes, Echuca Precision Engineering can perform work on and repair almost any type of fuel carrying container (fuel tanks, road tankers, bladders, etc).  We can degas your fuel tanker to AIP CP13-2004 code of practice, and perform work necessary to repair the leak (including hot work).

Q: What is Safe Load Program (SLP)?
A: Safe Load program (SLP) manages Safe Load Pass programs, previously operated by the Australian Institute of (AIP).  The SLP programs promote and support the safety of people, equipment and facilities under the operational control of member companies – Shell Australia, BP Australia and Caltex Australia.

Q: What is Pass 2 Load?

A: All Fuel Tankers entering Shell, BP or Caltex site require a current Pass 2 Load stickers displayed.   The pass-2-Load scheme, is an inspection regime for equipment, to validate compliance to facility entry  requirements and safety standards.  Equipment inspection is 6 monthly, and can only be certified by approved inspection locations.   Echuca Precision Engineering is one of these locations.   For more information go to: http://www.safeload.net.au

 

Q: How often do I need to have my vehicle inspected?

A: Refer below for the various tests and components:

• Pass-2-Load : 6 Months

• Hose test: 6 month for Continuity test & 12 months for Pressure test.

• Hydrostatic test: 5 years.

• Hatch Gear/P&V vent test: 2.5 years.

Q: How long does a Pass 2 Load inspection take?

A: Inspections usually take around 2 hours for a 6 monthly inspection.   24 hours (can be less by arrangement) for a full Hydrostatic test..
